On the day of your procedure, you should arrive at least one hour before the procedure is scheduled to allow time for preparation. You will be asked to sign a consent form which gives your physician and the center permission to care for you. If the patient is a child or minor, the consent form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. |
| What happens right after my procedure? |
You will be moved to our post-anesthesia care unit where you remain under close observation by the anesthesiologist and our nurses until you are ready to go home. Although the length of time varies according to your procedure and the physician's orders, most patients are discharged one to two hours after their procedure. Please let the nurse know if you need any medication, assistance or have special concerns. |
