The Surgery Center of Chevy Chase

|
| How is a surgical center different from a hospital? | A hospital is staffed to treat all types of medical problems and provides a broad range of services. Our surgery center is designed exclusively for out-patient surgery, endoscopy and pain management. Our staff is able to offer patients a convenient, comfortable and generally less costly alternative to the hospital. Yet we are able to offer equivalent sophisticated care found in a hospital setting in the following ways: . Your physician is supported by a highly skilled team, trained in surgical and recovery care. . Our surgical suites and facility are equipped with the technical equipment typically found in a hospital operating room. . The standards of care required by Medicare and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care are strictly enforced. |
| Will SCCC contact me before my surgery, endoscopy or treatment? | Yes, a member of our staff will call you before the day of your procedure to confirm your appointment, ask a few questions about your medical history, and answer any questions you may have after reading this brochure. | What should I bring with me on the day of my procedure? | . Any paperwork your physicians may have given you to bring, such as lab test reports, electrocardiograms or X-rays. . A list of your current medications or the medications themselves. . Knowledge of your health history. . An appropriate case to protect your eyeglasses or contact lenses. . Insurance cards. .
